Carl Michael Jordan

Carl Michael Jordan, 70, of LaPorte, IN passed away Tuesday May 5, 2026 in his home surrounded by his things and with his wife by his side.

He was born on July 12, 1955 in Royalton, Kentucky to the late Henry C. Jordan & Roma Lou (Patrick) Jordan.

Carl, or Michael as he was affectionately called by his family, had a wild heart, and a free, adventurous spirit. He loved his family, his friends, God, and all things outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping, and Indian rendezvous with his brother, Timmy). He also loved horror movies and had been collecting masks and memorabilia, which he was quite proud of and would tell everyone about. Michael had a huge heart and loved unconditionally. If you were lucky enough to know him and be loved by him, you knew you always had a fierce fighter in your corner. He was a storyteller, often telling stories from his life and the wild or crazy things he and his brothers would get up to or adventures with Steven as he was growing up. Michael could tell you a joke, a wild crazy story, or pull you into conversations about history or the Bible, and have you hanging on every word. He was very creative: from drawing and painting (an attribute he proudly shared with his grandson), to making wooden chairs, and fixing statues for the yard. He loved working in his yard and slowly turning it into his own little oasis. Michael was also an animal lover, happily reuniting with his furry best friends Newt, Tigger, Jack, and Oliver when he crossed those heavenly shores to meet Jesus. He retired after 43 years of service with the former Roll Coater Manufacturing in La Porte.

Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela (Snyder) Jordan; his son, Steven (Jessica) Jordan; his grandson, Cohen; sisters, Henrietta Bradley of La Porte and Sondra D. (Bobby) Rowe of Rolling Prairie; and brothers, Timothy W. (Louise) Jordan of Union Mills and Gary E. (Debbie) Jordan of Hobart; a brother-in-law, Tommy Bradley of Rolling Prairie; a sister-in-law, Vicki Jordan of La Porte; along with several other friends and family, including several nieces and nephews on he and Pamela's sides. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry (Shorty) Jordan, and sister, Marsha L. (Tiny) Elkins.

Michael was an unforgettable man, who will always be remembered for his crazy stories, unconditional love, and general love for life and all it entailed. He is, and will always be, missed by those who loved him.
