(Michigan City, IN) - A man has been found guilty in the fatal shooting of a teenage boy in Michigan City.
Marcus Ballinger, Jr., 19, was convicted Wednesday of murder. The jury in La Porte Superior Court 1 took just one hour to reach the verdict.
In May, authorities said Ballinger shot 14 year old Devin Porter in the 300 block of W. 11th St. Police said the boy ran inside his nearby home where he collapsed on a bedroom floor.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Ballinger could receive anywhere from 45 to 65 years when sentenced on November 5.
