(La Porte, IN) - An arrest has been made in connection with copper wiring stolen from a house under construction in La Porte.
Marshall Brown, 18, is charged in La Porte Circuit Court with Level 5 felony burglary.
According to La Porte Police, Brown on September 18 entered a home under construction on Ohio St. and cut some of the copper wiring from the walls at two electrical outlet locations.
A number of spools of copper wiring, copper pipe fittings and other copper devices were also taken from the residence, police said.
Police said Brown rode a bicycle to the home and returned on the bicycle to a nearby encampment in a woods where he and the stolen copper were allegedly located.
He’s being held in the La Porte County Jail on multiple counts of burglary and theft due to being a suspect in other similar crimes.
