Rodger Alan Coke

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodger Alan Coker, who left this world on May 6th, 2024, at his home in Michigan City, IN. Rodger was born on March 8th, 1970, in Ann Arbor, MI, to his loving parents, Rodger and Linda Coker.

 

Rodger led a fulfilling life defined by dedication and service. He proudly served in the Navy from 1989 through 1997 before embarking on a career as an operator at Central State, where he eventually retired. Beyond his professional life, Rodger was a man of many passions. He found solace in the great outdoors through activities like hunting, fishing, and camping. Rodger was a steadfast Michigan Wolverine fan.

 

Those who knew Rodger best will always remember him for his unwavering love for his family. His wife Susan Coker, along with his sons Delvin (Mary Willis), Seth, and Noah Coker of Michigan City, IN, will forever cherish the memories they shared. Rodger also leaves behind step-sons Kyle Williams of Huntsville, AL, and Marshall (Lanita) Williams Jr of Stuttgart, Germany. His legacy lives on through his brother Ryan (Angie) Coker of Florida and his adored grandchildren Kayden & Hunter Williams.

 

Rodger's memory will be honored during visitation at Haverstock Funeral Home Inc. in La Porte on May 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. Let us come together to commemorate the remarkable life of Rodger Alan Coker and find solace in the memories he has left behind.

 

In the face of adversity during his battle with cancer, Rodger remained steadfast and resilient. His unwavering spirit serves as an inspiration to us all.
